-
The day starts before the studio. Forty-five minutes of movement with Ines — shoulders, spine, hands. You'll need them, and it changes what you're able to see for the rest of the day.
Herbal tea from the garden or coffee, your own block of 12 Kg of clay, tools and working station surounded by nature, in a 180 degree sitting experiance around the model.
-
You build a human figure from the core outward, find where its weight sits, and hollow it so it can survive a kiln. Most people who spend a day with clay never learn that last part.
You work in silence. Not because it's a rule — it arrives on its own about twenty minutes in, and it's protected once it does.
-
The first studies are destroyed. Ten minutes each, then back into the bucket. It sounds harsh and it's the opposite — nothing made in the first hours can be lost, so you stop protecting it and start looking.
Somewhere in the second day people stop trying to control the outcome. That's the part nobody expects and everybody talks about afterwards.
-
Afternoons with nothing in them. Grounds to walk in, water to get into, and a long table where every meal is cooked on site and eaten together.
On the last evening the pieces come out to the fire, and each person decides: carry it home, or return it to the earth. Most people don't know until they're standing there.
